Samford Valley and Highvale offer a slower hinterland setting close to Brisbane, where rural roads, river country and bushland shape the day. For time outdoors, the City of Moreton Bay describes Uralba Park (opens in a new tab) as a Samford Valley green space beside the South Pine River, with tall trees and opportunities to look and listen for local birdlife.

For a larger protected-area outing, Samford Conservation Park (opens in a new tab) has the Ironbark Gully picnic area and designated walking and shared trails. Use the park’s current maps and directions, give way appropriately on shared paths, and adapt plans to weather and track conditions.

The valley’s natural places are more than recreation backdrops. The council’s environmental and conservation reserves information (opens in a new tab) includes Brian Burke Reserve in Samford Valley among areas managed to help protect local koala populations. Stay on permitted routes, leave plants and wildlife undisturbed, and follow any local directions.
